GROMMET INSTALLATION

There are two possible procedures for Grommet installation. Grommet installation with preinstalled Stud Nut

Insert the grommet into the prepared hole in the panel.

If the Stud Nut is not preinstalled use a Swaging Pin as a substitute.

Optional: Attach the Protection Washer to the Grommet

Attach a size 10 Allen key to fix the tension bolt and engage the nut with a 5,0 Nmadjusted torque wrench in clockwise direction.

Proceed screwing with the torque wrench for ••• to ••• revolutions in clockwise directionuntil the operating torque is increasing sensible.

 

ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA FOR CORRECT SWAGING

The grommet must be countersunk and correctly aligned to the structure

The swaging collar shall not show any kind of cracks or burrs

The swaging collar should be settled flat to the structure

The grommet should be free of clearance.
